Dr. Debbie Shoemaker is patent agent to Posz Law Group. From 1996 to 2005, Dr. Shoemaker was patent agent to Varndell & Varndell, a private law firm specializing in the practice of intellectual property law. She assisted in the prosecution of patents in the biotechnology sciences. She also served as an expert consultant in patent infringement opinions involved with patents claiming DNA sequences.

Dr. Shoemaker’s technical specialties include DNA and biotechnology. From 1993-1995 she was a post-doctoral fellow for the National Institute of Health, and from 1995-1997 she was an examiner with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office in the area of biotechnology. Dr. Shoemaker also has experience with private biotech companies involved HIV diagnostics.
